Eureka! Floor Saver Square Medium
Very durable ground cloth for the backpacker that is going to use their tent regularly. I am impressed with the thickness of this floor saver yet how light and unnoticeable it is in my backpack.
Pros
- Protects your tent floor from rocks and sharp sticks
- Completely waterproof and can even be used as a tarp tent
Cons
- No eyelets to enable multiple functions
- Does not fold quite as compact as I would prefer
Your eyes open, you wake up to hearing the robins and the other wildlife in the forest doing their thing. It was a cold night and you're sure your gear that you left outside and your backpack are going to be soaked from the dew.
You search for your socks in the bottom of the sleeping bag and slip them on. The only thing you're not concerned with is the dryness of your tent floor. Not this trip, not this time. Why? Because you decided to invest in what I would consider the paramount of ground tarps.... The Eureka Floor Saver.
No more rivers flowing through your tent because of ground water or a freak rainstorm! I was so impressed with this simple yet crucial item that I skipped the idea to buy a regular old tarp for hunting camp to keep items dry under a lean-to and purchased a second one of these sweet little babies.
With a little ingenuity and time you can transform this ground cloth into a tarp tent as well by simply utilizing some 550 paracord and punching some eyelets in the corners.
While I was previously a fan of using Tyvek cloth for backpacking, this quickly changed my thought on them and now when I camp with friends I make it a point to brag about this floor saver. No longer will you question whether or not your tent floor will stay strong and dry for extended backpacking and camping trips.
I have had one of these for 3 years now and it's just as strong and trustworthy as the day I bought it. I cannot express enough the importance of this simple yet perfect design!
