Eddie Bauer Guide Pro Convertible Pants
Good all around convertible pant. Fabric stretches, fit is very good (lots of sizes), like this pant.
Pros
- Good size selection and fit
- Durability and functionality
- Stretchy fabric
- 10" shorts not too short or long
- Lower side zips allow on/off over footwear
- Sun protection
- Good value
Cons
- Can't think of any
These pants are great. Very versatile whether as full pants or as shorts with the legs zipped off.
I wore them every day during recent a three-week rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. Whether in the raft, in the water, or during day hikes the pants performed very well.
When wet they dried quickly. Stretchy fabric was a strong asset, whether in shorts mode or when lower pant legs were zipped on. Zippers worked easily. There are two open and two zip front pockets, all of which were very handy but not bulky.
Fit is very good. Compared to many other convertible pants, these are not overly loose or bulky. Fabric is a good balance of light weight and durability.
Recommended.
Background
Used for about a year, on hikes in Washington's Cascades and in the Grand Canyon. I've used convertible pants made by North Face and Ex Officio and the EB's are my new favorite.
