The Foot Rubz massage ball is a small rubber ball that helps my sore feet recover from strenuous hikes. The ball is approximately the size of a squash ball (or slightly smaller than a racquetball) and is covered with massaging nubs. It is firm, and when rolled under the feet, it eases pain and relaxes muscles.
I use mine routinely, but especially after long hikes when my feet are tired and in need of some care. I know others who have recommended these for use on shoulders, legs, back, and calves, but I'll stick to using mine for my feet. Perhaps I'll get another one to use for other areas.
When going on a multiday hike, I simply toss the ball in my car at the trailhead so when I return, it is there waiting for me to enjoy a little foot massage before driving off. I’ve also taken it into the shower and enjoyed a foot massage while cleaning off post-hike. It does get dirty after awhile, so taking it into the shower isn’t a bad idea.
For $5 USD, this little massage ball has become one of those little pleasures that I now can’t imagine doing without.
