Deuter Spectro AC 32

rated 3.0 of 5 stars

The fit was great, the outside pocket was stretchy and carried items that would be needed quickly. Unfortunately, we experienced a short 30 minute rain shower, and found that the top pouch was not waterproof, items inside were damp, not wet, but still not dry.

Pros

  • Fit
  • Volume per weight ratio
  • Accesibility

Cons

  • Top pouch not waterproof

Eagerly waited to try out my new Deuter Spectro 32. The fit was great, the outside pocket was stretchy and carried items that would be needed quickly.

Liked having the top pouch as opposed to the Deuter Futura line. Weight savings on straps and buckles helped keep the volume up with low weight. The raised back design worked as promised, keeping airflow to the back. The hip belt was sufficiently padded, and gave great support.

Unfortunately, we experienced as short 30 minute rain shower, and found that the top pouch was not water proof, items inside were damp, not wet, but still not dry. May need to bring a pack cover, which negates some of the weight savings on potentially wet hikes.
