photo: Darn Tough Standard Issue Mid-Calf Light Cushion sock

These socks perform in cold weather, hot weather, and do well on long walks/hikes. Further, they do not stink after several days of wear. Best use is on long hikes where space counts (less clothes to bring). Highly recommended.

Pros

  • Warm in cold weather; cool in hot weather
  • Very durable
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Little to no odor even after extended wear

Cons

  • Price
  • Slightly bulky / not the thinnest socks

Fit: These fit a little different than some socks but the manufacturer's fit guide is accurate.

Comfort: I recently put these through an 18 day (military) field exercise. I only changed socks every three days. These held up great. I could have easily worn one pair for the whole 18 days if I took the time to air them out (which I didn't).  Wet weather, 27 at night up to 74 during the day (ah, Georgia weather!) the socks kept my feet comfortable.

Overall, a great product that I plan on using both for work and fun (hiking and camping of course!).

Durability looks good so far, though I've only been testing these for six months of daily wear.

The only drawback is that the socks are a little more bulky than socks I've had previously; as such, I've had to adjust my boot sizing accordingly (1/2 size larger).
