Coghlan's One Cup Coffee Filters
Coghlan's One Cup Coffee Filters are a great idea for people heading out into the backcountry to enjoy a cup of fresh brewed coffee. These tiny filters are light weight and produce great tasting coffee.
Pros
- Very small
- Very lightweight
Cons
- Not as quick or easy as making instant coffee
If you are like me, you probably like to start your day with a good cup of coffee. When I go camping or canoeing I usually take along instant coffee. It's quick and easy, but doesn't always give me that taste I'm looking for...you know what I mean...the unmistakable taste of a cup of fresh brewed java made from real ground coffee beans!
Now you can brew up a cup of fresh java without any fuss by using Coghlan's One Cup Coffee Filters. Basically these are tiny one-cup sized filters with two tiny holes at the top. The holes are there so you can slide a small stick, or the included plastic stick through the holes and then 'hang' the filter basket on the rim of your coffee mug. Now all you have to do is toss in a scoop of your favorite fresh ground coffee.
Take your pot of water you just boiled and slowly pour some water into the top of the filter. You may have to do this a few times until you fill up the mug, but the result is a fresh cup of great tasting coffee. Because the filter extends down 'into' the mug, it kind of acts as like a tea bag, allowing the coffee grounds to be submerged in the hot water.
Yes, there are lots of other methods of brewing coffee while out in the backcountry, but for a quick, lightweight solution nothing beats this product!
