Climb High down sweater/jacket
I just bought this down jacket from Climb High at a local climbing shop. The piece seems relatively well made-it has a semi decent detachable hood, is VERY warm, somewhat windproof, and fits great--room for a shell over top and long underwear and fleece underneath, yet plenty comfy with just a t-shirt underneath for a run to the market in January.
Complaints? Not too sure about durability, though I know a few guys who have been wearing theirs for several years with no problems. No drawcord at the hem, hood fits great over head but offers virtually no neck protection. Sometimes it's just too hot.
Pluses? Comes with a stuff sack, has 2 outer and 1 inner pocket (all zip), has zipper pulls for using with gloves, is very well filled with the down (no skimping here), has elastic arm cuffs (can be a plus or a minus)so it is tight over gloves, has an elastic hem, price is excellent-$113 normal, down to $79 on sale, from a major climbing manufacturer, comes with a decent guarantee, and you can always get it refilled at a shop (ie REI's repair service) for not too much if the loft ever dies...
All in all, an inexpensive but quite decent down jacket/sweater, especially once you take the hood off. Comes in black or dark green.
Fabric: nylon inside and out, unsure about denier
Fill: 550 fill down
Price Paid: $113 bucks/$99 or less on sale
