Bushka’s Kitchen Lentil Lunch
This is a delightful, cold soaked meal for a lunch or dinner on a hot hiking day when trying to make miles. Almost like a light soup, but cold...
Pros
- No stove needed
- Small amount of water used
- Nice flavor
- You can taste the spices and fresh ingredients used
Cons
- Price—most backpacking meals have high price points
As you can see from the ingredients in the picture thats a good amount of the vegetables added and the fruit to this meal. While I was eating this I was looking for the flavor of the cucumber and apple and onion and I wasn't disappointed. I also could taste the apple juice and apple cider vinegar in the meal. It wasn't too sweet or tart from the vinegar. It was a nice blend. It also comes to 600 calories for this meal. That's a good amount for a hiker on a hot day.
