rated 5.0 of 5 stars
photo: Black Diamond Magnum 16 Pack daypack (under 35l)

The Black Diamond Magnum 16 is daypack that can take abuse, hold enough gear for a savy overnighter. It has just the right ammount of features at a doable price point. It comes from a company with one of the best warranties I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

Pros

  • Durable
  • Streamlined

Cons

  • Can be cumbersome loaded heavy

This little pack is perfect for the budget minded day hiker. It does everything one would expect from a pack this size while not breaking your budget. If you're looking for a decent pack with a hard to beat price point, the Black Diamond Magnum 16 just may be the pack you need. However if you're looking for a more technical pack you may do better spending a bit more money and going for something with more storage options.

I use this pack for everyday trips to the park and when rockhounding. It has seen about three years of use and shows no noticeable signs of wear. It has been in creek beds and through thick bramble. I did lose one of the hip belt straps, and that brings me to the other positive side of this pack.

The Black Diamond company is one of the best I have ever dealt with in regards to replacements, and warranty work. I called and received a new strap within two weeks no hassle, no questions, just top quality service. The customer service and quality of their products is enough to garner my recommendation to anyone.
