Berghaus Cornice I.A. Jacket

Bought three years back to replace an aging, but much loved, Berghaus Kang Gore-tex jacket. Liked its lightweight but came (very soon) to hate zero-visibility hood and small size of pockets. Mine was an early incarnation - the newer version's have a volume adjuster (but hey Berghaus - telling a customer that his "head must be too small" is not good customer relations!)
Main problem is the durability - not used it much beyond its intended light walking/round town application - but cuffs abraded through and internal map-pocket 'losing' pieces of lining. Still breathable and never leaked - but not much loved - replaced it a month back with Lowe Alpine's Foraker, and now a happier man.
Have had lots of good Gore-tex experiences - the Cornice was not one of them. For (very) undemanding applications might be worth considering, otherwise, and if you must have Gore-tex, maybe buy something using a three-layer ripstop version (but see your bank manager first!).
