The Bark River Gunny is the perfect size knife for most any job. It comes in several different steels and with or without a thumb ramp, but they advised the ramp for Firestarters. Handle choices can overwhelm you.

I picked up my Bark River Gunny in A2 steel awhile ago and I've gotta say I just like to use it. I cut my steaks with it, baton with it, you name it, it's probably done it. I use it in the kitchen a lot!
Now it has a convex edge, so there is some meat behind that edge. It's hard to explain, but it's a fun knife to carry. It gives you that warm fuzzy feeling. It comes with a quality leather sheath and the overall fit and finish make you feel good about your purchase.
