ALPS Mountaineering Spirit Table
Sturdy little camp table, easy to set up and break down. Best used by car and motorcycle campers.
Pros
- Sturdy
- Easy setup and breakdown
- No problem to cook on
- 18" height above ground
Cons
- At 31" long rolled up, probably too big for the backpacker.
Perfect small table for the campsite. I car camp so the weight and length of this table when rolled up is not an issue. I always camp at dispersed sites so I use the table for cooking when there is no picnic table at the site.
When I'm relaxing in my chair it's a great place to set my beverage. Also the table has two built-in can holders, one at each end of the table. I use a Coleman one burner stove and an 8" cast iron skillet to cook and this table handles them no problem.
The table is 31" long and 20" wide, stands 18" off the ground and comes in two colors. I purchased this from Backcountry.com and through them and their affiliates Alps Mountaineering labels this as the Spirit table but from other retailers Alps Mountaineering labels it as the Simmer table; they are both the exact same table.
I looked at a lot of small portable camp tables but most stood only 11 or 12 inches off the ground and that was just too low for me. So when I found this one with an 18" off ground height and the incredible price I bought it right away and have been very pleased with the purchase.
