Adidas Terrex Climacool Parley Boat Shoes

photo: Adidas Terrex Climacool Parley Boat Shoes water shoe

These lightweight breathable water shoes drain water out as fast as it can go in. For the ecologically minded, the shoe is made with "Parley Ocean Plastic" recycled from ocean and beach plastic cleanups.

The Adidas Terrex Climacool Parley boat shoe is a lightweight, breathable boat shoe that will keep your feet cool and drain water super fast. What caught my eye when I first saw these boat shoes was the fact that they were constructed of a yarn made with "Parley Ocean Plastic". Anything that can help rid our oceans and beaches of plastic is an environmental plus in my book. The sock like knit upper integrates well with the sole that features lugged traction triangles interspersed with screened drain triangles. The knit upper is fully breathable and features a ribbed cuff.

I have had the Climacool boat shoe since the spring and have used them exclusively as a shoe for stand-up paddle boarding. The previous pair I used from another manufacturer had delaminated at the sole after a canoe trip so I was interested in getting a more robust replacement.

I have found these shoe to work really well on the paddle board, traction and balance have been excellent and they drain about as fast as the water can fill them up. I especially like the screens in the sole drains as they keep any sand or dirt from migrating into the shoe under my feet. The sock upper provides a secure fit that also is tight enough to keep debris from filling the shoe. While the shoe has laces I slip it on and off as if they didn't exist.

So far after six months of use, the shoes show no signs of wear and continue to be very comfortable. The knit upper breathes well during use and I really like the fit, as you can see it completely seals against my foot keeping out and sand or dirt.
