soles have more direct arch support.

superfeet are designed to indirectly support your arch thru "rear foot stabilization". the rolling of your calcaneus (the roundish bottom of your hell) is what often causes the elongation of the planar facia ligament and thus your arch lengths and flattens out.

most people buy superfeet by the length which is incorrect .. you should size them by the fit of your calcaneus into the superfeet heel cup. superfeet life span varies based upon frequency of usage, etc.. but regardless of which insert you choose, you should use the insert as often as possible. many people swap the inserts from sneakers to boots to casual shoes.

i have had people benefit form superfeet and others benefit better form soles. buyt the products from a store like rei who will allow a full credit if the product does not meet your needs. also, both manufacturers offer satisfaction guarantees.

remember that regardless of the product, it will take a couple weeks for your feet to acclimate to the enhanced support and (hopefully) reduction in elongation and movement.
